Cincoro Tequila, the brand co-owned by Michael Jordan with a number of leading American sports figures, has been named an official partner of Italian football powerhouse AC Milan.
Cincoro Tequila, so named because of its five founders, all ex-NBA players, has recently attracted further investment from the likes of former number one tennis player Serena Williams, baseball great Derek Jeter and golfers Dustin Johnson and Keegan Bradley.
The brand's new "friends" were brought in to support Cincoro's global expansion, and Italy is the next destination for the agave drink.
The first step in this arrival to the Apennine Peninsula is Cincoro's collaboration with one of the most successful clubs in Italy and Europe: AC Milan.
As part of the deal, Cincoro will be served at events at the San Siro Stadium, where both AC Milan and city rivals Internazionale play, although the partnership is only with the former.
The club's commercial director, Maikel Oettle, said that AC Milan is "incredibly excited" about the partnership: "This partnership will undoubtedly increase the prestige of our brand on a global scale, connecting the elegance of Milanese culture with the refined allure of Cincoro."
“Launching Cincoro Tequila in Italy has long been a goal of ours and we are excited to finally introduce Cincoro to premium spirits enthusiasts in Italy,” said Cincoro co-founder Emilia Fazzalari. “This extraordinary partnership allows us to introduce the rich and delicious taste of Cincoro to discerning Italian consumers and international travelers.”
The brand has also announced its plans to expand into other European markets, including the UK, France, Greece and Spain.
